ÅA__6121 Nanomaterials in Energy Technology 5 ECTS


After approved course the student is expected to:
- describe the most basic principles of the different energy technologies introduced during the course
- know the most general concepts of the synthesis and utilization of nanomaterials in various energy technologies.


The focus of the course is to give insight into the state-of-the-art nanostructured materials used for various energy production/storage applications (including photovoltaic cells, water splitting, batteries, supercapacitors, and hydrogen storage). Different synthesis and modification techniques of the nanomaterials as well as the most important characterization techniques will be discussed. The relationships between the design of nanomaterials and the various energy applications will be established based on physicochemical principles.
