Learning outcomes

After taking this course students are expected to understand the general framework and key concepts of life course research and to know some main research findings in the field. In addition, students should be able to identify different transitions in the life course; the specific concern being in the transition to adulthood. Student should also perceive social risks young adults are confronting in this life stage.


This course develops an understanding of the life course and introduces to key concepts and approaches of life course research. In particular, it considers transition to adulthood. The course also examines social risks young adults are confronting in their life course. The course is given at the undergraduate level.
