TKO_3110 Principles of Interaction Design 5 ECTS
Organised by
Computer Science
Person in charge
Erkki Sutinen and Tomi Suovuo

Learning outcomes

The course provides the students with abilities to use coherent design language on digital artefacts. The students obtain an expert posture in analysing design choices in a focused and insightful manner. The skills in understanding interaction principles, learned during this course, are beneficial for interaction analysts and designers in business, as well as in research.

Contents

The course introduces and discusses design principles that focus on the affordances of the digital medium. Interaction design is approached both as a cultural process and as a technical implementation. Taking the course alongside with the User-Centered Design of Information Systems course (Åbo Akademi, IS) or Usability Testing (Turku School of Economics, IS) is beneficial for both courses.
