General description

Aims and Content: The student will be familiar with the terminology of the EU institutions in English, they will be able to discuss EU-related matters and read and understand EU-related news articles, political texts and statements. This course does not aim to be an authoritative guide to the EU, but instead aims to cover a wide variety of EU-related issues that will be used as sources for studying and dealing with the language and terminology. The course will also contain a session on academic writing, in order to help the students in completing their essays, learning diaries and other written assignments in the History and Politics of European Integration teaching programme.

Mode of Assessment: Attendance and active participation at lectures, course work specified by the teacher and a test.

Registration: Attendance of this course is limited to a maximum of 35 students. To guarantee yourself a place, you must register beforehand at https://nettiopsu.utu.fi.
