Learning outcomes

The students will learn the basics in general glacial geology and the primary field evidence on which the interpretation of the Quaternary glacial history of Eastern Fennoscandia is based on. They will also learn to critically use primary research literature and to understand glacial sequence stratigraphy.

General description

Preparation for the field course by reading Bennet and Glasser: Glacial Geology textbook and some central research papers of Scandinavian Quaternary geology and glacial sequence stratigraphy. A one-week field course with visits to key sections described in the research papers. Exercises in field documentation.
